The Senior Farmers' Market Nutritional Program provides vouchers to qualifying Medina County seniors.  Each qualifying senior receives $50.00 in vouchers to be used at participating Farm Markets.  The program is a partnership between HANDS and the many agencies/organizations who financially support the program. The program runs from June through October of each year.  The HANDS Foundation reimburses the transit system for transportation provided free to participating seniors twice a month.  HANDS could not have started and maintained this program without the support of the Medina County Commissioner Pat Geissman who designated HANDS and the Farmers Market Program as one of the designated charities of the annual Commissioners Charity Ball seven years ago.

To participate, qualifying (2009 income guidelines - $20,035 or less for a single person or $26,954 or less for a household of two) seniors apply for vouchers from the HANDS Foundation.  At the beginning of the program HANDS will mail $50.00 in vouchers to each qualified participant.
