Senior Wishes

Senior Wishes is a program whereby HANDS partners with other Medina County agencies or senior advocates to provide Medina County Seniors with vital goods and services that the senior may not be able to afford on their limited budgets.

 Funds are made available by grant application to seniors and their familiesWishes Senior for special needs they could not otherwise afford or obtain through any other resource.  This program fills a huge void in services to seniors and no other organization in the county has a program similar to Senior Wishes.  More than $60,000.00 in Senior Wishes were granted in 2009.

Criteria For Senior Wishes

Senior Wish Process
 
  1. Third party advocate completes HANDS Senior Wish Application
  2. Third party advocate submits application to HANDS
  3. Anonymously reviewed by Senior Wish Committee
  4. Approved or Disapproved
  5. Third party is informed of decision
  6. If approved third party arranges delivery
  7. HANDS funds request
  • Minimum Age is 65
  • Medina County Resident
  • Can not be an on-going expense
  • Capped at $300 per person and $450.00 per couple
  • Only available through third party advocate once a year
